"That's A Winner" is in memory of the late
Jack F. Buck. Jack Buck was a St. Louis
icon and was loved and admired by many.
Throughout his career, he was the voice
of Cardinal baseball. Just before his
death, he suffered from kidney failure and
other ailments. Upon hearing about the
kidney failure, I felt a kinship to Jack
Buck because I too suffer from kidney
failure, so I created this painting shortly
after his death. The Cardinal's tear
represents the many tears shed by St.
Louis fans across the city. The flag at half
staff represents the nationwide mourning
over the loss of Jack Buck. The Arch and
Busch Stadium represent St. Louis;a city
that will miss the voice of Jack Buck.
