"Diana, Princess of Wales" was created three weeks
after her untimely death, August 31, 1997. The shock
and overwhelming loss of her life made this picture
difficult to paint. I wanted to show her love for the
least fortunate children of the world. She will always
be remembered as one of the most humane
individuals of our lifetime. She was an advocate for
people suffering with Aids; She spoke out against the
mine fields of Africa and assisted several charities.
Not only was she the Princess of Wales, her service to
others made her a true Princess of the world.
